As parents of three energetic children, we know first-hand the importance of play in child development. That’s why we are passionate about designing playgrounds that encourage imagination, movement, and social connection. Since I wasn’t able to be on-site when the playground went in, Jamie made sure I was still a part of it by sending updates each day. I loved seeing Miss Lori’s vision come to fruition. Community members sent updates too, praising Andrew’s hard work and effort. Many of them were impressed with his professionalism, work ethic, and can-do attitude. This fantastic pair took so much of the stress of the project off my shoulders. By the end of the project, I felt that they too became part of Miss Lori’s legacy. She always said a key to having a great life was to surround yourself with good people. After this project, I can definitely add two more names to my list.

While compliance with CSA Z614 is voluntary from a strict statutory perspective unless mandated by a specific municipality or school board, adhering to it is standard practice to meet liability requirements and secure insurance coverage.
CSA Z614 specifies design and safety guidelines for two primary age demographics:
- 18 months to 5 years (Toddler / Preschool): Features lower fall heights, smaller grip diameters, guardrails at lower heights, and gentle slopes.
- 5 to 12 years (School-Age): Includes higher platforms, more challenging climbing elements, and overhead activities like monkey bars.
An accessible playground ensures children of all abilities can access ground-based and elevated play components:
- Accessible Route: An unobstructed path leading to and through the play structure suitable for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers.
- Elevated Access: At least 50% of elevated play components must be reachable via ramps or transfer stations (step platforms that allow children to transition out of a mobility device).
- Ground-Level Play Events: A balanced variety of sensory, musical, and physical components accessible from ground level.

This commitment dates back to the founder of Blue Imp, Simon F. Scott, who repurposed scrap steel from retired steam locomotives to create playground equipment, long before recycling was common practice. Today, we continue that legacy by prioritizing efficiency, eco-friendly materials, and sustainable manufacturing.
MAXIMIZING USE OF STEEL
Because steel is one of the most sustainable materials available, we prioritize its use in our playground designs whenever possible. With its long lifespan, high recycled content and full recyclability, steel outperforms other materials in environmental benefits. In fact, two-thirds of all new steel is produced from recycled content, making it the most recycled material in the world! When the time comes to replace your playground, steel components can be easily recycled in most communities, further reducing waste.

Our plastic components are made from PVC-free, lead-free and heavy-metal-free polyethylene resin, which is fully recyclable where facilities exist.
